Blue Mountains, Australia Day 6 (June 2023)

Day 6 started early and someone was ready to go! The older two were
to meet us in the lobby at 5:10am

They arrived at 5:13am filled with joy and excitement!

If I am being honest 3/4 of my family was
clearly not a fan of my plan and well the youngest
just goes with the flow.

We arrived at the train station and I got myself some coffee
and breakfast for the family.
The food did put a few of them in a better mood.
The train station and the platforms were spotless
and even staffed with workers at this time of day.
We saw one worker mopping the platforms.
We have traveled a lot by train, not just here in South Korea,
but also in Germany and France. I will say Australia
train station were the best we have seen. From cleanliness, easy to navigate,
and well lit.

We arrived in Katoomba ready to explore the Blue Mountains.
We got on the Hop on and off bus and made our way

We took the Skyway across to the other side and
had amazing views of the Jamison Valley.
This was the view from the floor.

Once we arrived everyone was ready to start our epic adventure.

We started out by riding the worlds steepest passenger railway (Scenic Railway) 310 meters to
arrive at the floor of Jamison Valley

I was trying to get a nice photo of the family before we took off exploring
and below is an example of the craziness I have to deal with on a daily basis.

After the photo drama we headed out to walk the 500m elevated boardwalk
and experience walking under a canopy of an extraordinary rainforest
on the Scenic Walkway.

We then rode the Scenic Cableway to the top of the escarpment. On this ride we got
amazing views of the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock and Mt. Solitary.

Instead of getting off we rode it back to the bottom.

We then walked Scenic Walkway back to the Scenic Railway
to ride it back to the top.

After our ride back to the top we
grabbed an early lunch and headed out to do some hiking.
While we had a lot of fun
in Scenic World it was now
time to see all the amazing sites
in the Blue Mountains.

We wandered around the different trails
taking in the amazing views.
We hiked up and down hills
and seemed to find lots of 'stairs'.
We laughed, joked and had
a few tears, because
it was too much hiking.
(it was not the youngest in tears)

After spending a few hours hiking we came off the trail
and found a bus stop and got back on the hop on and off bus.
We rode a loop and ended up back in Katoomba.
While there we visited few stores and found an
awesome grocery store and I was
able to stock up on some snacks.
We then headed back to the train station for our 2 hour
train ride back to Sydney.

The Blue Mountains were amazing! We did not hike a fraction of the
trails that it has. If we ever find ourself back in Sydney we will
definitely make our way back to the Blue Mountains.
