Twenty Years!

Twenty years ago we stood in front of

God, family, friends and people

I didn't even know and pledged to

to have and to hold, from this day forward;

for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,

in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish,

till death do us part and I was completely terrified!

You see, I know one thing and that was I could not live my

life with you! You had rocked me to the core in way I could not explain.

Every wall and every barrier I had built had come crashing down.

I know I could not live without you, but I was clueless on what came

after the "I do's".

I had no clue what a marriage should look like or be, but I know exactly

what I didn't want it to look like.

Being married to you has been the best thing I have ever done! I have never had to choose to love you,  I fall in love with you more each day. Being married to you has been the easiest and best thing I have ever done! I thank God for you every day.

Yes, in twenty years we have had a fair share of pain, loss and heartbreak, but because of our marriage, we came out stronger on the other side. Some of those things would have broken me, but with you I was able to weather the storm.

Our marriage probably looks a little crazy from the outside. Hell, twenty years in and we still can not keep our hands off each other. We wrestle like teenage boys, pick on each other like siblings do, spare like MMA fights, laugh until we cry and could honestly spend 24/7  together if we ever win the lottery. We live in each others head. We know what the other one is thinking and finish each other's sentences.

Whether we are exploring the streets of Paris or Walmart, you are the one I want to do it with. Some of my favorite memories are the times we spent hours in Walmart. Walking up and down every aisle and laughing so hard that we had tears. Grocery shopping is more of an adventure when I get to do it alone. We live in our world, it's us and then the rest of world. We don't let the world effect us, because it is what it is, and together we will figure it out.

When our children roll their eyes because we kiss, or say things to each other, I remind them to "marry well". To find your person that makes everything better. The one that knows you better than you know yourself. The one that you can trust with your heart and soul. The one that would walk though fire to be with you. The one that packs your snacks, so you don't get hangry. The one that has more confidence in you, than you have in yourself. The one that will not blink an eye and drive well over an hour just to get you a big and full Christmas tree. The one who will make your dreams their dreams.

Twenty years ago I was young and clueless and today I am still young, but no longer clueless when it comes to marriage. I promise to love you more than I did yesterday, to be your biggest cheerleader, your Tonya Harding,  your soft place to fall, your ride or die, the finder of your lost things, to live in your head and follow you wherever you go. I had no clue what came after the "I do's", but twenty years later it is better then I could have ever dreamed of. Here's to the next sixty years! While I am not sure where the road will lead us, I know that as long as we are together it will be an amazing adventure.

Loving you and being married to you is the best thing I get to do.

Love you! Always and Forever Forever and Always!

19 Year and Forever To Go!

Nineteen years ago in a small baptist church we exchanged
vows in front of God, family and friends!
I would be lying if I said I was not terrified.

The only thing I was for sure of that day
was I could not live my life without you, and that is still true today!
I had no clue what it meant to be a wife, an Army wife
or what marriage should look like,
but living life without you was not an option.
On that day I promised to follow you anywhere
and I would make that promise again today.
Because together we can do anything!

We have had amazing nineteen years.
We have cried more tears of happiness than sadness.
In our most darkest of hours when we both should have been grieving,
you put your grief to the side to take care of me. That is something
I will never forgot!

We still chase each other around the house and wrestle
like two teenage brothers.
If you didn't know any better you would think we were still newlyweds.

We laugh all the time, can read each others mind, and finish each others sentences.
Being with you is my favorite place to be!

In nineteens years we have had three amazing kids, weathered multiple long deployments, built and sold a few homes, moved a lot, traveled the world and lived in three different countries.

We have went to our share of military balls,
explored some renaissance festivals, and even attended a few Oktoberfests,
but the best part was I got to experience it all with my best friend.

Whether we are road trippin' across the US, watching the Red Sox play,

logging miles with the family, exploring different countries, at our happy place (Disney World),
or just chilling on the couch together, you are the person I want by my side.
You are my ride or die and my happy place.
The world could crash down around me, but if I was in your arms, I know that it would all be ok.

It has been an amazing nineteen and I am excited to see what the next nineteen years look like!
Nineteen down and forever to go!
