Exploring Philadelphia (5/27/2022)

With our time in Rhode Island quickly coming to an end we decided to do

a little four-day weekend getaway.  It was a no brainer on where we were going.

Philadelphia had so much to offer so we loaded up and headed off.

After a quick 264 miles we arrived at our hotel. The Philadelphia Marriott Old City

has a location that could not be beat and the service was amazing. After checking in and dropping off the car and luggage we headed out on foot.

Our first stop was The Academy of Natural Sciences

because it had dinosaurs! The older two still enjoy them and the youngest thinks they are amazing.

Theses two guys had no clue we could see them from the outside. We all were laughing so hard
watching them duck and hide from the dinosaurs.

If you ask his what he wants to do when he grows up the most honest
answer is paleontologist, but we are slowly exploring more marketable options.

After spending a few hours exploring we then headed out to the most famous place Philadelphia,

We love the movies and could not miss the chance to run the steps.

We took a few pictures around the area.

It even had a sign of our future to come!

But as quickly as we ran the stairs the weather changed.
We walked, okay ran, to find lunch somewhere indoors

While eating dinner and watching the rain pour down, we had to change our plans.
Doing anything outdoors was out of the question.

We took an Uber to Philadelphia Museum of Illusion. We had visited something very similar in Edinburgh, Scotland and we had a blast, and this one did not disappoint.

All the kids got in on the action and had a great time.

By the time we had finished, so had the rain, so we headed back to the hotel.

Next to our hotel was the Philadelphia Korean War Memorial, so we took the opportunity
to get a brief history lesson. With Korea being our home for the next
few years, it was nice for the kids to start learning some history
about the country and the sacrifices that were made.

With that we called it a night. We had a long day and tomorrow was going to be jam packed.
Other than the rainstorm our weekend in Philadelphia was off to a great start.
